Sunrise is the outer edge of this area. From central Coral Springs most trips take the Sawgrass Expressway south toward Sawgrass Mills, or University Dr and Pine Island Rd south through Tamarac. Either way, plan on 20 to 25 minutes. About 97,000 people live in Sunrise, more than in any other city covered here.
It is also two different places. The east side is built around 1970s condo communities like Sunrise Lakes. The west side, near Sawgrass Mills and the arena, has newer apartments, towers and office parks. Coral Go Movers matches each kind of move with an independent mover, and that mover provides the written estimate, the certificate of insurance and the crew.
East Sunrise and west Sunrise: two kinds of move
East: Sunrise Lakes and older neighborhoods
Sunrise Lakes is a large 55+ condo community built in phases, where buildings may have stairs, a small elevator or both, plus association move rules and limited space for a truck. Welleby and the streets around it hold single-family homes. Moves out of the east side are often downsizing or estate moves, so packing is a big part of the work.
West: Sawgrass, Metropica and the corporate parks
Around Sawgrass Mills and Amerant Bank Arena the housing is newer: apartment communities, mid-rise and high-rise buildings, and the Metropica development. Here the building sets the schedule: a loading dock, a service elevator booked for a fixed block, a COI on file before the truck pulls in.
Moves from one side of the city to the other are common. The apartment movers page covers elevator bookings and walk-ups, and the local movers page covers house moves.
Sunrise landmarks and main roads
Oakland Park Blvd and Sunrise Blvd run east to west across the city, and Pine Island Rd runs north to south through the eastern half. Sawgrass Mills, Amerant Bank Arena and the Sawgrass International Corporate Park sit near the Sawgrass Expressway on the west side. Event nights at the arena and weekend shopping traffic around the mall both slow a loaded truck, so a morning start helps.
Example: a typical Sunrise office call
This is an illustration of how a call usually goes, not a customer story. A six-desk office in the Sawgrass International Corporate Park is moving to a suite in Coral Springs over a weekend. The office manager gathers both buildings' dock hours, an elevator reservation at each end and certificate-of-insurance requirements for two landlords. The mover plans a Friday evening load, labels every desk and box to the new floor plan, and puts crew size, hours and any after-hours charges in the written estimate.

Offices, elevator slots and loading docks
Commercial and tower moves in Sunrise run on the building's calendar. Before you choose a date, get answers to these:
- Which loading dock or service entrance the truck uses, and its height clearance.
- When the service elevator can be reserved, and for how long.
- What the certificate of insurance must say, and who at the building receives it.
- Whether moves are allowed on weekends or after business hours.
- Who disconnects and reconnects computers, phones and printers.
With that list, the mover can size the crew and timing to fit. Our office movers page explains planning and labeling, and the office move checklist lays out the weeks before. For a home move between June and November, read moving during hurricane season too.
Routing a Sunrise move: tolls, arena nights and mall traffic
From Coral Springs, the Sawgrass Expressway (SR 869) is the direct line to west Sunrise, and it is an all-electronic toll road with no cash lanes. Trucks pay by transponder or toll-by-plate, so ask the mover whether tolls are passed on to you and where they show up on the written estimate.
| Trouble spot | When | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Amerant Bank Arena | Event nights, including Florida Panthers home games | Finish west-side loading early and leave before the evening crowd arrives. |
| Sawgrass Mills | Weekends and the holiday shopping season | Pick a weekday for moves near the mall's entrances off Sunrise Blvd. |
| Sawgrass Expressway | Commuter peaks and widening work zones | Ask whether University Dr or Pine Island Rd is the better route that day. |
| Oakland Park Blvd | Weekday rush hours | Start east-side jobs near Sunrise Lakes early so the truck crosses town before the rush. |
Travel time is on the clock for most hourly local moves, so the route is part of the price. Sunrise covers about 18 square miles and several ZIP codes, from 33322 on the east side to 33323 out by the mall, and a cross-town move from Welleby to a tower near Metropica can take longer than the drive up from Coral Springs.
Leaving the state? A morning departure gets a loaded truck onto I-75 or I-595 at the south end of the Sawgrass before the arena traffic starts. The long-distance movers page covers out-of-state pricing, and our guide to comparing moving estimates shows where tolls and travel time belong on the paperwork.

Moving questions from Sunrise
Do you move offices in the Sawgrass corporate parks?
Yes. We match office moves in and around the Sawgrass International Corporate Park and nearby office buildings. Tell us the number of workstations, the floors at each end and the building rules for docks and elevators. The mover gives a written estimate, sends the certificate of insurance to each landlord and can often schedule the move outside business hours.
Can movers work around elevator reservations in Sunrise towers?
Yes, and they have to, because the reservation sets the schedule. Book the elevator first, then tell us the start time and length of the block so the mover can size the crew to finish inside it. Ask the building whether elevator walls must be padded and where the truck parks. A missed slot usually means rebooking, so leave a buffer.
Do you cover Sunrise Lakes?
Yes, Sunrise Lakes is within the area we cover. Moves there are often downsizing or estate moves out of older condo phases, and each phase's association may have its own move rules and paperwork. Check the application, approved hours and insurance requirements first, then call. Adding packing services helps when a unit holds decades of belongings.
How fast can a crew reach Sunrise from Coral Springs?
Sunrise is usually about 20 to 25 minutes from central Coral Springs, depending on traffic and which crew has the opening, mostly via the Sawgrass Expressway. It is the longest drive in this area, so ask how travel time is charged on the written estimate. Arena events and weekend traffic near Sawgrass Mills can add to the trip.
Will a Panthers game or Sawgrass Mills traffic delay my Sunrise move?
It can, on the west side. Event nights at Amerant Bank Arena and weekend crowds at Sawgrass Mills slow traffic on the roads around them, so a weekday morning start is the safer plan. Ask the mover which route the truck will take and how travel time and Sawgrass Expressway tolls are billed on the written estimate before you sign.
