North Lauderdale is a small, busy city tucked southeast of Coral Springs, between Margate and Tamarac. Most trips run south on Rock Island Rd or University Dr and then pick up McNab Rd or Kimberly Blvd, about 10 to 15 minutes from central Coral Springs. Around 45,000 people live in just a few square miles, and many of them rent.

Renters move more often than owners, and on the lease's schedule rather than their own. That pushes a lot of North Lauderdale moves into the last days of the month. When you call, we check which independent movers have room on your date, and the mover you book gives you a written estimate before the crew shows up.

Apartments, townhomes and starter homes

Housing here is dense and mostly modest: garden-style apartment complexes, townhome rows with shared parking, and small single-family starter homes. Most moves are a studio, a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom, and the load fits on one truck.

The risks are specific. Apartment lots fill up in the evening, so the truck may end up far from your stairwell. Second- and third-floor walk-ups add a climb for every box. And when the old lease ends on the last day of the month and the new one starts on the first, there is little slack if anything runs late.

Two fixes help. Ask the property office where a moving truck may park, and get keys to the new place as early as the lease allows. The apartment movers page covers walk-ups, long carries and protecting floors so the deposit comes back.

Getting around North Lauderdale

The streets people name on the phone here are McNab Rd, Kimberly Blvd, Rock Island Rd, Bailey Rd and State Road 7 (US 441). Hampton Pines Park is a common reference point. Apartment complexes and townhome communities line the main roads, and many have their own gate codes, parking rules and office hours.

Example: a typical month-end call

This is an illustration of how a call usually goes, not a customer story. On the 24th, a renter in a second-floor apartment off McNab Rd calls about a one-bedroom move to a townhome near Kimberly Blvd on the 30th. We ask about stairs, parking and whether boxes are packed, then check which crews still have the 30th open. The mover confirms a two-person crew and a morning start, with the hourly rate, minimum and travel charge in a written estimate.

Month-end timing: how to get a date that works

The last few days of one month and the first days of the next are the hardest to book across Broward, and a renter-heavy city feels it most. Industry pricing research suggests month-end and summer weekend dates can also cost more than a mid-week, mid-month move.

Lease-end checklist: getting your deposit back in North Lauderdale

Around 45,000 people share about 4.6 square miles here, and a large share of them rent, so the move-out matters as much as the move. Under Florida's landlord-tenant law (s. 83.49), a landlord who keeps nothing must return the security deposit within 15 days after the lease ends. To claim part of it, the landlord has 30 days to send written notice by certified mail or e-mail, and you then have 15 days to object in writing. This is general information, not legal advice.

  1. Give a forwarding address in writing. The notice goes to your last known mailing address, so the landlord needs the new one before you hand back the keys.
  2. Photograph every room empty. Walls, floors, appliances and closet interiors, with the date showing, right after the last box leaves.
  3. Protect the old unit as well as the new one. Door-frame pads and floor runners on the way out keep fresh scuffs off the move-out inspection.
  4. Book cleaning after loading. Schedule it for the afternoon the truck leaves, or the next day if the two leases overlap.
  5. Return keys, fobs and parking tags the way the lease says, and ask for a written receipt.

Leasing offices at complexes near Kimberly Blvd and the Boulevard of Champions keep set hours, so plan the key drop for a time when someone can sign for it. Moving questions from North Lauderdale

Can I get movers at the end of the month in North Lauderdale?

Often, yes, but month-end is the busiest stretch of the calendar, so call as early as you can. We check which local crews still have the date open and match you with one. Being flexible on start time, or moving a day or two earlier, widens the choice. If the date is already close, our same-day movers page explains short-notice bookings.

How much notice do you need for a one-bedroom move?

One to two weeks is comfortable for a one-bedroom move, and more if the date falls at month-end or on a summer weekend. Shorter notice can still work when a crew has an opening, so call even if the move is days away. Have the floor, the parking situation and a rough furniture list ready, and the mover can prepare a written estimate quickly.

Do you offer labor-only loading for a rental truck?

Yes. If you have rented a truck or container, we can match you with a crew for labor-only loading or unloading while you do the driving. Expect an hourly rate with a minimum, and ask whether travel time is billed. Our comparison of labor-only and full-service movers explains when each one makes more sense.

How fast can a crew reach North Lauderdale?

North Lauderdale is usually about 10 to 15 minutes from central Coral Springs, depending on traffic and which crew has the opening. Treat that as drive time, not an arrival promise. At month-end the limit is usually crew availability rather than distance, so booking early matters more than how close you are.

How long does a North Lauderdale landlord have to return my deposit?

Under Florida law, a landlord who is not claiming any of it must return the deposit within 15 days after the lease ends. If the landlord plans to keep part, written notice must go out within 30 days, and you have 15 days to object in writing. Leave a forwarding address and keep photos of the empty unit. This is general information from s. 83.49, not legal advice.
