Parkland sits directly north of Coral Springs, and the drive is short: University Dr or Coral Ridge Dr north, then Holmberg Rd into the communities. From central Coral Springs that is usually 10 to 15 minutes. About 35,000 people live in Parkland, nearly all of them in single-family homes behind a gate.

The drive is the easy part. Coral Go Movers is a call-first referral service: you call, we match you with an independent mover for local moves, and that mover gives you a written estimate before move day. For a Parkland home, that estimate should account for the gate, the carry to the front door and every piano or safe.

Big houses on gated streets: what a Parkland move involves

Most of Parkland was built from the 1990s onward in planned communities, each with its own HOA, gatehouse and rules about when trucks may enter. Four- and five-bedroom houses on two floors are normal. Loads are large, and much of what goes on the truck is heavy, fragile or expensive.

Where the hours go

  • Long carries. On cul-de-sacs and narrow community streets, the truck often parks well short of the front door.
  • Staircases with a turn. Armoires and dressers come down slowly when the stairs curve.
  • High-value pieces. Pianos, glass tables, mirrors and art each need pads, crating or a separate plan.
  • Waiting at the gate. A truck held at the gatehouse is a truck on the clock.

That is why many Parkland moves add packing services for the kitchen and glassware, and why a piano or gun safe should come up on the first call. See furniture movers for how heavy pieces are handled.

Parkland communities and the roads into them

Calls come from across the city: Heron Bay, which straddles the Coral Springs line, Parkland Golf and Country Club, MiraLago, Cascata, Watercress and Parkland Isles. Pine Tree Estates is a different job again, with bigger lots and longer driveways. Holmberg Rd and Pine Trails Park are the usual reference points when you give directions.

Example: a typical Heron Bay call

This is an illustration of how a call usually goes, not a customer story. A family in a five-bedroom Heron Bay house is moving to a smaller home in Parkland Isles. On the call we cover the upright piano, a gun safe in the garage, whether either HOA needs advance notice, and how far the front door sits from the street. The mover then sends a written estimate listing crew, truck, kitchen packing and the piano as separate lines.

Most Parkland moves start at a gate, so the mover's name should be on the guest list before move day.

Gate clearance and long carries: set them up before move day

In a gated community, the move starts a week or two early with a call to the gatehouse or management office:

  1. Ask what the community needs. Usually the mover's name on the guest list, a move registration, approved hours and a certificate of insurance (COI) naming the association.
  2. Send that list to the mover. The COI comes from the mover; request it several days ahead.
  3. Pace off the carry. Measure from the curb to the front door and note any steps on the way.
  4. Clear the driveway. Park cars elsewhere the night before so the truck can pull in as close as the HOA allows.

Ask about truck size

Some communities limit truck or container size. If a full-size truck cannot get in, the mover may need a smaller shuttle truck, which adds time and belongs on the written estimate.

Timing a Parkland move around the school year

Parkland is a family city, so most moves here follow the Broward County Public Schools calendar. For 2026-27, the district lists Monday, August 10, 2026 as the first day of school and Friday, May 28, 2027 as the last. After that last bell, big houses across 33067 and 33076 all chase the same crews.

Breaks on the BCPS 2026-27 calendar as approved (check the district calendar for changes) and what they mean for a Parkland move
WindowDatesWhat to expect
Thanksgiving breakNov. 23 to 27, 2026A short week; book early.
Winter breakDec. 21, 2026 to Jan. 1, 2027Kids are home; holiday travel competes.
Spring breakMarch 22 to 26, 2027A full week off before the summer rush.
SummerFrom May 29, 2027The busiest stretch, with storms and the most demand for large crews.

Changing schools is its own deadline. Families zoned for Park Trails, Heron Heights or Riverglades elementary schools, or for Westglades Middle School, may land in a different zone after even a short move across Holmberg Rd. Boundaries change, so confirm the new address with the district before you sign a lease or set a closing date.

If summer is the only option, lock in the date during spring and ask how a weather reschedule works before you sign. Moving questions from Parkland

Do movers need gate clearance for communities like Heron Bay?

Usually, yes. Gated Parkland communities such as Heron Bay generally want the moving company's name on the gatehouse list, and many also ask for a move registration and a certificate of insurance naming the association. Call the gatehouse or management office a week or two ahead and pass their list to the mover.

Can you move a piano or a safe out of a Parkland home?

Yes. When you call, tell us the piano type or the safe's size and rough weight, plus any stairs on the way out, and we match you with a mover whose crew has the boards, straps and people for it. Heavy items usually appear as their own line on the written estimate.

How many movers does a five-bedroom house need?

Most five-bedroom houses need four to six movers and a large truck, and some need a second truck or a second day. Crew size depends on how much is going, whether it is packed, the carry to the door and items like pianos. The mover sets the crew on the written estimate after reviewing your inventory, ideally from a walk-through or video tour.

How fast can a crew reach Parkland from Coral Springs?

Parkland is usually about 10 to 15 minutes from central Coral Springs, depending on traffic and which crew has the opening. That is drive time, not an arrival promise. For a large Parkland move the booking matters more than the distance, so call early, especially for summer weekends and month-end dates, when local crews fill up first.

When is the best time of year to move to Parkland?

For most Parkland families, the best window is spring or early fall, though many pick the weeks after school ends so children don't switch mid-year. Broward schools let out on Friday, May 28, 2027, and that summer stretch books up first. Mid-week, mid-month dates from October through April usually leave more crews open. If summer is fixed, call in spring and plan an early start.
